The Certificate of Fire Safety is mandatory for some materials and equipment. In these cases it forms an integral part of the CoC.
The purpose of this certificate is to confirm the compliance of the product with legislative fire and safety requirements and to ensure that the product is safe for life, health, property and the environment.
SFSD will determine if Certificate of Fire Safety is required. Project endorsement by SFSD is required prior to obtaining the Permit to Construct from the Committee for Construction. A list of products,which require Certificate of Fire Safety, is available from the State Fire Department
