Kazakhstan GOST-K Certificate of Conformity

CoC is the documentary evidence required by Kazakhstan law, which testifies that the product forwhich such documents are issued conforms to legal requirements, approved design codes and manufacturing requirements specified in Kazakhstan standards. It is mandatory for hazardous equipment and materials to have a Certificate of Conformity to meet the requirements of the customs authorities and to facilitate customs clearance. In some cases a CoC has other certificates as mandatory attachments, e.g. Hygiene Certificate,Certificate of Fire Safety.

Within Kazakhstan national certification system GOST-K is the supreme authority responsible for accreditation of certifying agencies. There are several agencies, which must have GOST-K licenses, authorized to issue certificates. The official list of such agencies is available from GOST-K.

Certification by GOST-K and/or authorized agencies is necessary in all cases identified in Kazakhstan authorities lists (see Paragraph 9.1).

Even if equipment has been brought into and certified in Kazakhstan in the past, it is necessary to go through the same certification procedure again if it is imported under a new contract.

An Equipment Technical Passport, however, is required prior to installation, commissioning and operation. It is a document dossier, the purpose of which is to satisfy GGTN or other appointed installation and commissioning authorities that the item conforms to the specification and is fit for its intended purpose. In the current Kazakhstan Regulatory system, the Technical Passport acts as an ongoing maintenance record for the life of the equipment.
